Sarah Wood

POLICY ADVISOR

As Policy Advisor for Babbage Cofounder, Sarah advocates for causes in Kentucky and nationwide. Her passion for government, politics, and advocacy was honed as a Fulbright Fellow in Ukraine and during her Master's degree in International Relations and Diplomacy.

Sarah plays a key role in legislative efforts across various sectors, including health reform, technology, infrastructure, community arts, and education. She is particularly involved in health-related initiatives, driving legislative efforts for prescription drug affordability and patient-centric policies nationwide. In addition to her legislative and executive contributions, Sarah dedicates her time to project and coalition management, policy research, and business development.

Originally from West Virginia, Sarah attended the University of Kentucky, double majoring in Russian Language and Integrated Strategic Communication, with a minor in International Studies. These studies solidified her interest in foreign policy and international cooperation and propelled her to Ukraine as a Fulbright Fellow, where she taught English and Media Literacy at a university displaced from conflict-affected areas.

During her Fulbright stint, Sarah engaged in multiple U.S. Embassy-backed development and policy initiatives across Ukraine, from a forum for the Ukrainian Parliament to the Mayor of Kyiv's "School of Success'' leadership camp. To promote intercultural competence and diplomacy between Americans and Ukrainians, she organized weekly meetings and grassroots programs, inspiring students to advocate for societal improvements and establish English clubs in their hometowns.

After her impactful Fulbright experience, Sarah returned to Kentucky for a Master's degree at the Patterson School of Diplomacy and International Commerce. Her studies focused on comparative foreign policy, cybersecurity, defense statecraft, and national security policy.

Throughout her academic journey, she gained expertise in research and analysis through an internship at the Department of Homeland Security and as a contractor for Global Commercial Insights, a DC-based due diligence firm.

Sarah's diverse background, global exposure, and commitment to community engagement position her as an effective advocate at Babbage Cofounder, where she continues to serve our causes in Kentucky and beyond.
